Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Is this a consultation of a rulemaking process?
No. It is an engagement to codesign a prioritisation tool and generate evidence and alignment. It does not create rules or obligations.

  2. How are conflicts of interest managed?
Declare interests at onboarding; the SDA will balance representation and note potential conflicts in artefacts if relevant.

  3. What if a pod needs additional expertise?
The Core Group may invite subject specialists for specific sessions.

  4. Who can take part in the taskforce?
Participation is open to representative bodies and sector wide organisations across industry, consumer groups, academia and the public sector.

  5. How will participants be selected?
We will curate a balanced mix of perspectives to ensure impartiality and avoid over representation from any single interest.

  6. What is the time commitment?
Participants can expect around 2–3 hours per week during the April–June period, varying by pod cadence.

  7. Can participants share information from pod discussions?
Participant discussions will be treated as confidential, and while insights and themes may be used to inform our work, individual contributions will not be attributed. Participants should not share confidential or personal data. Any wider communications must be agreed with the FCA Press Office.

  8. Is PRISM a regulatory decision making tool?
No. PRISM will support evidence gathering and alignment. Final regulatory or policy decisions remain with the FCA.

  9. What happens after the taskforce concludes?
The FCA will refine and validate the PRISM tool over summer 2026 and publish a summary report in H2.
